And honestly, I would rather be here less distraction. Unfortunately for Mike, he is probably inundated with all kinds of spiders that post random stuff.
I am curious as to just how ferocious that spam is. Cuz I would rather use this format with my group on FB. Not that there is much discussion there… but at least it would be a community that has some kind of ownership to it.
I’m Darren btw. The silent guy in the PDC lmao.
So happy that I signed up. I love that Mike encourages participation rather than just lecturing.
There is really a lot to learn as folks talk about their own experiences and thoughts. I just wish I weren’t preoccupied with working. (I’m listening in through earbuds and trying not to get too sidetracked in thought about permaculture while driving a forklift…)

So far it hasn’t been bad. I agree it is preferable for an organization to not be dependent upon Facebook, especially any kind of regenerative organization. So thanks for coming here!

So far, we’re using a shareware open source forum tool, Buddy Press. It will allow us to eventually turn the site into a full social media site with personal profiles, etc.

I should add, I currently own (with intent to transfer to the Non-Profit once we formalize) the URL and content, so we will be slightly more free from corporate rule.

I’d eventually like to see a “use tax” to honor “user must pay.” I don’t know if a tree tax, a water tax, or a carbon tax or all three will be most appropriate. Or something else….

Lillie House has had a formal Regenerative Enterprize statement for nearly a decade, but so far, Transformative Adventures hasn’t adopted its own. That will probably be something to do once an organization is set up.

I might suggest that the statement not wait until after the organization is set up, as the two influence one another. One of the failure points of the maker space group I was involved with was a focus on the importance of having a fully developed organization Before we started bringing in members. Not that you’re doing this, another angle on the need for simultaneous development of organizations. Especially organizations that are intended to be co-operative, egalitarian, stuff like that, rather than those driven by an individual. Coherent? Unsure. I have a headache 🙁

Probably breaking the rules, but I would do 20-30 minutes at the one hour pace or a bit faster, and then do 5 x 5 after that. Id start out the 5 x 5 at a manageable rating at the beginning of the week and then edge things up bit by bit.
