      Watching the water movement video provided me with a surprise, in that I had not thought of a sand layer as an obstacle to water movement, and had expected more lateral movement through the horizontal sand layer. Interesting that the surface tension is such a strong barrier to movement into what intuitively appears to be an easier path of flow. .
